Difficult enforcement of Reforms: The land reforms become difficult to enforce since it is difficult to fetch the information from the manual, torn out land records.ĥ. Unmanageable: The records are rising with the rising number of population which makes it difficult and cumbersome to manage the records.Ĥ. Manipulative: Since the records are written and maintained in register, they can be changed and are not reliable.ģ. No Homogeneity: The system of maintenance of records is different in different states which makes it difficult to retrieve data from the registers which are also prone to wear and tear.Ģ. Following are some of the major drawbacks in the manual system of land records.ġ. Henceforth, any changes in the land recorded were required to be updated. Through survey and settlement process, cadastral properties of distinct plots were recorded which included area, boundaries, land types, land revenue due, crops grown, irrigation facility, land owner etc. In fact in the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalya, the process is not yet completed. These records were generated through survey and settlement process by all the states individually and the problem was that this process was not homogenous across different states. Land records have been maintained since history but there were many loopholes in manual maintenance of these records.
